The Canadian Press:
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is promising to immediately double the number of entry applications for parents and grandparents of new immigrants from 5,000 to 10,000.
Trudeau said today in Brampton, Ont., that if elected he would also make it easier for potential immigrants to come to the country if they already have Canadian siblings.
A Liberal government would also restore the maximum age for dependants from 19 to 22, making it easier, he said, for immigrants to bring their children to Canada.
New spouses entering the country will also get immediate permanent residency, Trudeau said, instead of having to wait two years under a conditional status.
